Welcome to Ms. Hubbard's Page!
Hello! My name is Holly Hubbard. I teach K-12 EL students for the Etowah County Board of Education. I am also an Adjunct Instructor for the ESL Teacher Education Program at UAB. I graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 2021. I have also been the Secondary ESL Coordinator at the Dresden International School in Dresden, Germany. Prior to teaching in Germany, I taught Spanish and a sheltered social studies class at Oak Mountain Middle School in the Shelby County School System. I also lived in Argentina after I graduated from Samford. Teaching students from all over the world is my passion. I love to get to know them and understand their cultures. My job is always exciting!
I graduated from Samford University with a degree in history and later earn a Master’s degree in Social Studies Education from Jacksonville State University. I have also earned a master’s add-on and an Ed.S. in Teaching English as a Second Language from UAB. Because I love school so much, I decided to get a Ph.D in Instructional Leadership with a concentration in Social and Cultural Studies from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide).
I love to travel and some of my favorite places that I have visited include Antarctica, Iceland, Russia, Cuba, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Chile. I am also a dachshund enthusiast and have two cute dachshunds, Mia and Lily.
