What is school based physical therapy?

Physical therapy in the school is a related service that addresses functional skills in the educational environment such as:

  • walking or wheelchair skills
  • stair climbing
  • balance
  • coordination
  • sensory awareness
  • self care skills
  • large motor skills
  • positioning
  • assistive devices
  • etc...............................

A student that receives physical therapy will work on improving gross motor skills to better function in the school environment.

Hello, my name is Kelly Hubbard I am a Physical Therapist Assistant. I graduated from Wallace State in 1997. I feel blessed to be able to help a child learn a new skill and to help prevent future gross motor skill difficulties. I absolutely enjoy my work and I love all the students I serve.
