The Etowah County School System's String Orchestra program has a 20-year history of providing students with the highest level of musical training, both as performers and as well-rounded consumers of the arts. Every 5th and 6th grade student at Duck Springs Elementary, Glencoe Middle, Highland Elementary, Hokes Bluff Elementary, Hokes Bluff Middle, John S. Jones Elementary, Southside Elementary and Whitesboro Elementary is eligible to participate in the program. All 5th and 6th grade students are invited to participate in the program at annual recruiting assemblies that occur at the beginning of the school year.
