Professional Development Grant Program


Professional development (PD) activities are integral for the growth of all educators.  There are numerous opportunities during the school year for PD that is funded from various sources.  The Etowah County School Foundation provides grant opportunities for PD activities that cannot or have not traditionally been paid from other fund sources.  These activities should promote innovative teaching strategies as well as develop collaboration among colleagues.  Funding is based on the applicants’ willingness to share their findings at their home school as well as other schools in the Etowah County System.

Examples of these activities include, but is not limited to, training, workshops, National Board Certification, and state or national conferences.  Fundable expenses may include registration fees, supplemental materials, travel expenses, etc.  Primary consideration will be given to innovative training.  Secondary consideration will be given to specialized college courses.


Grant awards will be funded on a competitive basis.  Maximum award will be $500. 

Grant recipients must utilize their grant funds before March 1st, each year.


Fulfillment of this application should include the following:


·      Complete demographic information

·      Complete grant questionnaire

·      Complete budget section (Please note that expenses not listed and approved on a purchase order will be reimbursable only.  Receipts and/or adequate documentation are required for all reimbursements.)

·       Principal's signature of approval on application
