Director of Technology
Hal Murphy was named Director of Instructional Technology in March of 2012. Mr. Murphy comes to the Central Office after 25 years at Southside High School, where he served as band director for 20 years and assistant principal for 6 years. He graduated from Southern Choctaw High School, and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Troy University, and his Educational Administration Certification from Jacksonville State University. Hal also serves Etowah County Schools as the system's Fine Arts Supervisor.
Professional Development Coordinator for Technology
Kim Reed was named Professional Development Coordinator for Technology in the Summer of 2005. Ms. Reed previously served as a special education teacher at Carlisle Elementary and Sardis High School. She graduated from Glencoe High School, and received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Jacksonville State University. She has been employed with the Etowah County School District since 1998.
Kelly Bryan has served as a Network and Software Technician in the Etowah County School District IT Department since 1997.
Daryl Henson rejoined the Technology Department as a Computer Hardware Technician during the Summer of 2009. In December 2010, Daryl became the Information Technology Specialist for Etowah County Schools. Daryl worked as an ECBOE technician in 2003-2005 and completed technology coursework at the University of Alabama.
Wes Brasher joined the Technology Department as a Computer Hardware Technician during the Summer of 2010. He served as a technician for Verizon and received his Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 2004.
Mark Gentry joined our department as Computer Hardware Technician in January of 2013. He has worked in IT (both repair, maintenance, and in retail) for several years. Mark is a great addition to our team!
Lynn Powell joined our team in December of 2014. She received her Bachelor's of Science degree with a double major in Finance and Management from Jacksonville State University. She is married to Mike Powell and has two children, Austin and Abby. Her experience in the business field will help make our team more productive as we strive to provide the best customer service possible.
Marcia Holland is the Technology Specialist in the Etowah County Special Education Department. Marcia recently earned her Master's Degree in Computer Science from Jacksonville State University.
